Hello,

Is there any software that can take an MP4 video, allow me to add chapters where I want them and then burn to DVD and compress to fit on one disk if necessary.

Thanks,
Ho'okani

I have used AVS programs video editor and DVD Authoring. Both can add chapters where I want but video editor only lets me burn files to hard disk and DVD authoring won't compress to fit a DVD. I know I could use Editor to burn to hard disk and then use something else to burn to DVD but looking for something to go direct to DVD.

Thanks,
Ho'okani

Thanks Amy,

Seems that with the Xilisoft you can only add chapter automatically where you specify at what time intervals to add chapters. What I need is the ability to pick a specific time in the video to add a chapter.

The AVS Video Editor is supposed to have the ability to burn to DVD but I can't seem to figure out how. I go thru the steps to burn to a disk but in the end it doesn't give me the option to burn to DVD. I can only pick a place to save the files but the DVD drive is not given as an option.

Thanks,

Just because the program that does the encoding doesn't burn the files,
all is not lost! They are, after all, two logically separate things.

Just install Imgburn and use it to burn the video_ts folder.

Open Imgburn and select "burn files and folders".
Drag the video_ts to the window.

Well I did find that AVS Audio Editor does burn the DVD but it encodes it to the hard drive first and then you are given the option of burning a disk. Not sure if the hard drive location is treated as a working folder and then deletes the files after the burn though.
