First off i would like to thank larry for his help getting me up and running. Secondly, daft question time. Updates? Im assuming that the only way you get wii updates is by going online? As ive had a total nightmare with wireless broadband, my internet is hooked up by ethernet therefore my family dont go online to play games. Anyone wishing to clarify this is more than welcome. You can also update your firmware if you`re buying a new game. Almost every game come with an new/old update.

Sorry guys, just read my original thread and to be honest, its makes no sense whatsoever!!! I soft modded my wii using hbc and wiigator bootloader, firmware 3.3. My question was, can i brick my wii by accepting updates? If so, are updates only available if you play your wii online? Sorry for being dense ;)

So long as the game is from the same region as your wii its safe to update from the game. You can also update online if you like, theres no chance of bricking it because of the homebrew channel or any form of modding.

I think that wiigator automatically blocks updates from the disk though.
