Hi I have a scph 90002 (v18?)Aust pal purchased July 08. Ive just bought swap magic 3.6 with magic keys pro v4. I followed the instal instructions and got the disc to spin but not fast enough. Thinking maybe I wasnt getting tool E in the right spot I thought Id open up the console and instal tool D instead. This is where my problem lies, there is no micro switch there as shown in the diagrams just a bunch of gold dots.(looks like sony have changed the design) So my question is, does tool E actually do anything in this version ps2 and if it does, I would assume it causes a short between those gold dots. Does this cause any damage? As Im not getting any replies from emails to the seller or to the swap magic website Im hoping someone here can help answer my questions. Is there any way I can still use swap magic with this ps2 or should I sell the discs on ebay and go get it modded instead.
Thanks in advance for any help :-)

You only need to block the sensor near the reset switch with this model.
You will then know if its working by putting the disk in , start the PS2 and lift the lid.
If the disc is still spinning, it is done correctly.

Thanks Smokyrain, now I know that that piece wasnt doing anything I have taken it out. After much fiddling around I discovered the problem with the disc not spinning fast enough was actually the disc itself and not the tools. Its either slightly thicker than a regular disc or the way its been manufactured. I found I need to press it down harder to make it click in properly, sometimes it takes a couple of tries to get it right. But its all good now and working great.
Once again thanks, you are the oracle of ps2 knowledge :-)

Your welcome TD276

I know it sure makes you wonder if they are making the PS2 Spindle bigger or what on these later models of PS2, as quite a few people need to really make sure the Swap Magic disc is pushed down all the way

Hopefully the more you use it, the better it will get.
