Plugged up my CK3 pro to mod an xb360 tonight like I have done quite a few times previously. I power on the PC, then flip the on switch and nothing happens. I flip it on an off a few times and a big puff of smoke comes out of the middle of the CK3 accompanied by a terrible smell.
I power down the pc, unplug everything, plug it all back up, power the Pc on, turn on the CK3 and it comes on! Modded a BenQ with no problems at all. Should I be concerned or try to return it while it is still under warranty from where I got it?
I just my ck3 pro today, seems like I gotta buy a 9 pin male to female extenion to get the probe workin, pics for the lite looks like it comes with a 9 pin extension maybe I shoulda went with that one

Has anyone had any similar experiences?
of course return it if they will offer a replacement, good chance they won't though. Did you plug the white molex connector in upside down? even for a second? I know it is keyed to fit one way but it is possible to touch a couple of pins while trying to fit it the wrong way. If it released the smoke then I am positive something blew up.

the wire that comes with the ck3 pro should work with the probe.
you do not need to use the the db9 pin serial port if you have a ck3 pro. that is just an additional port. If you have the pro then use a usb to mini usb cable and install the usb drivers first. Then power up and plug in your ck3 pro and "add new hardware" will PnP it. If you don't want to use the usb then you need a db9 serial cable.
to the OP.... there is no way your ck3 can live a happy life after releasing the smoke. you were able to flash the benq cus all the ck3 did was power it. if you try another liteon I bet the serially portion does not work.
my ck3 does not turn on,if i put the power cord the wrong way will it damage my 360 drive? but if it is damaged the drive still works, i know my 360 drive is working propley because i tried a game that worked but ck3 does not turn on
the only problem is the ck3 does not turn on
i connected my usb to the computer, green cord to power to ck3 and sata to the card to 360 drive tried turning it on had no luck
