Hi,

I have tried all sorts of ways of making a Memory Stick to installl a custom firmware.

I have a Pandora Battery that I bought online. When I put this into the PSP the light on the front turns green showing that it is on. But the screen stays blank. It does this with all the different memory sticks I have attempted to create.

If the light goes green (i.e the PSP is powering on once the Pandora is inserted) but the screen stays blank does it mean I have the TA-088v3 motherboard that can't be hacked? Or if I had this motherboard would it not even turn on when the battery was inserted??

If the TA-088v3 Motherboard doesn't even turn on with a Pandora inserted then it must be the way i'm making the memory stick. I've searched to find an answer but nobody knows if the screen is blank but power on that it means its the TA-088v3.

Any help greatly appreciated!

I've solved this now. The problem seemed to be that I was creating the Magic Memory Stick in Vista. I did it on my XP machine using mspformat first, copying over the appropriate files for PSP Slim, then running "msinst.exe X msipl.bin"

Worked flawlessly. Now that I think back it's probably because I didn't run the programs as Administrator in Vista.

If anybody wants a really simple way of doing it I used the following guide:
http://www.pspmod.com/forums/downloads.php?do=file&id=22

Don't know who put the files together etc but it's all there.

It was on a PSP Slim running the newest official Sony Firmware.
