try flashing the box again, won't do any harm and might sort the problem for you
Whatever you say, say nothing when you talk about you know what for if you know who might hear you, you know what youll get. Youll be sent off to you know where for you would not know how long. Maybe I could search through the threads so you dont have to ??

Sounds like the same thing that happened to me with a eurovox blue clone box take a read through this page and maye the one before it as another poster had it happen to a eurovox 1000, it might help courtesy of hiteck and scouser, I hav'nt tried it yet to see if it sorts out my box in question. :)

OK delete the Firmware and loader you have for this box off your PC.
Re-download these,
LOADER
FIRMWARE
Do a clear data then a factory default then re-flash with the files above then do another factory default and re-scan providing the remote works...

Test the remote control,
To check that he remote is working OK,
Press ANY button on your remote, Point it at a camera/mobile phone as if you're going to take a picture of the remote LED, through the screen on a camera/mobile phone you should see the remote sensor flash if it's working.

Did you check it with the camera as advised and was the led flashing?.
Take the lid off where the ribbon from the sensor plugs into the board make sure it's plugged in all the way.

Do as HiTeck suggested. Take the top off the box, and make sure that the ribbon cable from the front panel is securely connected on both ends. You might even disconnect the cable on both ends and then reconnect, just to ensure a good fit. Slightly off topic, but this fixed at least one starview last year, if not more.

i hae the top opened and panel is connected by a soldered ribbon cable at both ends and looks very secure including joints, one question i am presuming the ir sensor is the component to the right of the led (a 1/2 cm x 1cm x 1 cm depth, three legs and and a x like diamond on top)
