Since I'm slowly breaking into 360 repair and modding as part of the sercives I offer in my shop, I'm thinking of assembling a kit of sorts. Does anyone know what the best size USB drives to use would be if I want to have one drive dedicated to each make/model of DVD drive and 360 console? I want to have identical ones, probably just gonna find a lot on ebay, but I don't want to pay extra for 2GB ones if 512's would work anyway, but I don't want to buy small ones if the utilities and FW's are going to be huge later down the road, y'know?

I first tried a 8GB with iprep because it's what I had on hand and for some reason would not format. I have a 256MB (not really sure how it survived the trash bin) and it works like a charm.

you could do it with a 32 megabyte one, or even a 16mb if you had one that small. you may be able to get by with a 8 if your lucky!

I looked at the store the other day and couldn't find anything smaller than a 1GB. Soon they will be listed as specialty item kind of like DDR.

Some motherboards will not boot to a USB stick over a certain size. In my case it was 2gb stick i had and it didnt boot so i bought another 2gb stick and it didnt work, then i found out my mobo would not boot it cause it was too large. i later used a 128mb stick and worked like i charm, till that mobo fried now i am stuck using ntfsfordos lol.
so just check to see what ur mobo(s) allow you to use and go with that. as far as size goes i doubt the utilities and such will ever get very large.

If you send me questions on Live about modding or anything related i will block you. Dont be an idiot.
