Hello. I've got a bit of a problem, and I really need some help with it. =/
I got a flip top and Swap Magic 3.6 for Xmas to mod my PS2. It's a slimline, for the record. Everything went great, and I can play Pop'n Music 9+10 on it perfectly, without a single problem.
However, today, the Para Para Paradise game I ordered came in, and will not work. I boot up the Swap Magic DVD disc, and everything's in order, but when I hit "Load Program", all I get is a blank, black screen. The laser doesn't even look like it's moving back and forth to read the disc [it does at first, then stops and stays in just one place]. I tested Pop'n 10, and played some US games the same day. All of them worked perfectly, so it doesn't look like the PS2 OR the Swap Magic discs are the problem. However, the disc really doesn't look scratched.
I was really looking forwards to getting this, and I paid a lot of money to get it with the controller, so I'd really like to know if the problem is just with the disc, and I need to buy a new one, or if the game isn't at all 3.6 compatible. I've checked the 3.3 list on this forum, but the game isn't on there at all. ANY and ALL help is definately appreciated! Even if you just tell me where I can look to find some hints also, I'd really appreciate it. Even a little bit helps.

After you Select "Load Program" Select "Video Mode" and choose the region your PS2 is.
If that does not work, the best thing to try is make a backup of the game.
Use imgburn to make an ISO image of your Para Para Paradise
Then use imgburn to burn the ISO image.

I've tried that, and with no luck. =/
I've never tried the backup thing, but I suppose I can try to do some research on how easy/hard the process is.
Has anyone else gotten this game and had the same problem as me...? ._.

Yep, I've got the same problem.
I'm able to play burned games just fine, but when I try to play the legitimate game of Para Para Paradise, it just loads to a black screen, and the laser stops moving.
I've tried using DVD Decrypter & Img Burn (I know, they're pretty much the same program) and reburning the game to DVD, but it still doesn't work.
I know the disc is good, I had another PS2, and I was able to play on that one without a problem. Well, at least before the DC jack broke. But the disc works, Magic Swap works in this PS2, the Magic Keys are installed correctly, and it plays American games, both legit and back-up copies. Why won't it play the Japanese game?

I know its another step, but I would try patching your ISO image with "ESR disc patcher", then using the ESR r9b elf to load the game.

Attempted that, still didn't work. Any other tips would be greatly appreciated though, thank you.
