Model Ipod 80GB Classic:
Detail:
my ipod is working fine . playing music. but when it comes to connection with computer via usb cable in any computer it wont connect . my itunes version is 8.
ipod charges itself perfectly but the chargin sign wont apear on ipod screen .
please kindly solve this detection problem . ill be very thankfull.

you probably have a faulty usb cable, i suggest borrowing one from a friend and trying it, to make sure, if it still dont work, try connecting something else to you pc usb port make sure u dont have a bad usb port, so start with that. Good Luck.

But i use the same cable for my iphone if wrorks fine in same USB pot :( even then its not working please sugges me another solution...I will be very thankfull to you....by the way thanks for reply....

well try setting the ipod to recovery mode and see if itunes see it that way, you hold the menu+center button until the ipod powers off, imediately release menu and hold play+center button until a check shows on your ipod screen, your ipod is now on recovery mode, connect it to itunes, and see if itunes see it, if it does, then just restore it. try connecting it to another pc to see what happens. Sometimes there are some detection problems depending on the Windows you have installed on your computer.
