Hi guys

Can anyone help or point me in the right direction. I have a liteon drive and have just attempted to flash it with jungleflasher. I have got the key etc successfully and got to the point in MKT flash 32 where i click on liteon erase. Once i did this i power cycled the drive within one second like the tutorial told me too however it didnt work. I have retried this process lots of times however it keeps failing and now the drive will no longer open when i press eject on my CK3 lite. Can anyone advise on what i can do to finish this flash.

P.s. dont know if this changes anything but the drive tray is now closed.

Thanks in advance.

Hmmmm, this doesnt sound too good, the tutorial i followed was in windows, but maybe try using the xbox to power the dvd drive then try opening it with the eject button on the xbox then try using dosflash32 to erase and flash?

If you don't mind. How did you get this working. I too have a drive that didn't complete the erasing, I swear I have erased this sucker like 10 times in dos. However the drive will not flash, (although it says it did) when it completes it just says "Flashing Done" then nothing. I try to power cycle and eject the drive and it doesn't work.

1. Used iPrep to get my sata info ( I use the connection on my via card that is closest to the front of the computer) Once iPrep has your sata info and says VIA 6421, click the question mark and it should give you 8 letters and numbers total. The first four are the number/letters you want to remember.
2. Used the lite-on key extractor add-on from DIYgadget
3. In jungle flasher, under dvd key32, chose drop down list under I/O port and chose the corresponding one from iPrep,(0x????) then you should see info populate about vendor and name( name should have the lite-on DG-16D2S in it)
4. COM1 is my db-9 connection, then I ejected the drive, pushed it in halfway, power cycled the drive, connected my alligator clamp to the voltage regulator on xbox connectivity kit, pushed pin into R707 and clicked get key.
5. Returned good key, saved it along with identify and inquiry.
6. Then I went to firmware tool tab, and under source, I clicked "load dump files" and it chose key, identify, and inquiry. Under target I loaded ix 1.5 lite-on firmware and then clicked spoof source to target. Asked me to save Lite_CFW.bin.
7. I then took a jump drive and formatted it and made it bootable from iPrep, deleted all files off jump drive that iPrep put on it, and copied over DosFlash16( contains 2 files DosFlash.exe and DosFlash.typ from DoshFlash 1.7 beta)(google DosFlash 1.7 beta for download) and also copied Lite_CFW.bin. Also copied L-O-Eras.exe to the jump drive. At this point jump drive should only have 4 files in it.
8. Booted to jumpdrive and typed L-O-Eras.exe + the 4 letters/numbers of your sata connection you are using, kept doing that til I returned with 72 Status (might say FF72)
9. Then typed dosflash.exe and it will start to populate all info off of sata. Make sure you have any sata CD/DVD drives unplugged. You should see something like
NAME: MXXC(MX25L2005) That is your Lite-ON drive, the one you want (my corresponding number was 6)
10. It will give you 3 different commands, Read, Erase, Write
11. I chose write and it prompted me for firmware so I typed Lite_CFW.bin it started erasing and then started to write the firmware.

Well, after I posted this I actually got the thing to flash, here is a quick synopsis of what was going on and what I did/didn't do to fix it.

First of all these forums were a great help, thank you to everyone out there!

I originally tried to get the flashing and key extracting done in Win XP SP3, VIA chipset no drivers with the Port0l32 drivers. I got the required files to make the Dummy.bin, I even merged it with the ixtreme 1.5 file, however when i went over to the MTKFlash tab, it didn't display the Winbond flash information, and on the "Device ID Side" it still showed a Liteon drive. I tried to "Get Device ID" and power cycle the drive, nothing seemed to work at all. Sometime after fiddling with it for 4 hours and my girl telling me to put it down I gave up and went to bed.

I took my 360, Via Sata card and went to work, looked all around the net for more info on troubleshooting, I spent like 8 hours in dos running the L_o_eras command as well as dosflash - liteon e commands, always getting the x72 but it would work after it said complete flash.

I could get the x72 status running L-O-eras then boot to windows and "flash" from jungleflasher it would flash and verify and pass, but no eject.

I put it down again to go have a birthday dinner with the parentals that came to visit, it dawned on me, what if I jacked up the merger of the hacked bin and the dummy bin?

You know what, something must have gone wrong when i copied the .bin to a cdr or something because i recreated it using the 4 files that get made, (made so many backups) and tried to flash agian, this time flashing took longer than a few seconds and the damn drive ejected after the flash was complete.

I hooked it to the console and bam!! Bread and butter!!!!

It might be worth noting in some of the tutorials that if it says successful flash and you still don't get an eject to try to recreate that file.

by the time you read this, you will have already read this.
