I got a 360 from a friend for free with an overheating problem. I fixed that and it RROD'd twice, once when I installed a HDD (went away after reseating the HDD) and once when I hit the power brick and it came loose. I called MS about the RROD and they said that they would repair it under warranty. They didn't ask me anything about the warranty sticker, which is broken on mine. My question:
-Should I send it in for repairs?
-Is there any chance that they deny it and deny to send me the console back? It was built in 2006 without HDMI so I believe it's the version that's prone to RROD.
-Should I just perform a thermal paste fix and not worry about the repair by MS?

The drive is not flashed to my knowledge but the motherboard is missing some screws.

if the warranty seal is broken they can deny you service, but must send the console back to you, it may be at your own expense however, so you take a chance sending it to them. BUT, you should search ebay, you might find some people who sell warranty seals. fair warning to you, if you do that and are caught, however unlikely it may be, it is fraud and it is illegal. but that would be the cheapest, safest rout to take to get the xbox fixed.

If your warranty seal is broken...so is your warranty.

Figure it out.

Actually since the inside was also missing screws and all, I decided to mod the cooling myself with air duct expansions, AS5 mods and the X-Clamp replacement (which I plan to do, I haven't done it yet. As of yet my fan runs on lowest settings even while playing a game so I think it's working. No RROD's lately. It was built 11/25/2006 and still going strong.
