DRE ONLY after 5+ mins of laser inactivity

Hi there,

I finally got my GC to play backups with my Xeno modchip. I tried using G04's with no luck so I am using a generic full size DVD.

They boot/work fine, but it's just that after about 5 minutes of the disc laser not moving, it will make a high pitched squealing sound and then when and go to a new level in the game (e.g. Zelda: go to a new room) it will give me a DRE.

The short term solution is to always be playing the game, and making sure the disc reads every few minutes.

I have tried different POT levels, 230 down to 180 but it doesnt seem to be helping.

Is it the DVD's problem or is this definitely the POT's problem (meaning do I need to adjust more?)?
