Hey im Kriptik
I recently received a xbox 360 pro console 60gb for Christmas with a lite on drive

i have the tools to open it and had some basic questions?

Once i have flashed the DVD drive with the latest and greatest would i be able to play backups on live without being banned?

Does the ban have to do with the back up of the disc or the flashed DVD drive?

And the difficulty of flashing the DVD drive? I have soldered a chip into my wii if that helps?

After i have flashed the drive and a new update comes out? do i have to open 360 and re-flash or can i use some sort of update disk?

Is their any chip that stop you getting updates from xbox live?

First of all you need to make your title more descriptive or the mods will close the thread since you ignored the message when creating a thread.

Second of all you don't have to end each sentence with ? unless it is a question. :)

No. Everybody will be banned some day/year. There is no way to avoid it....yet....

This is very debatable. It's really a combination of the two. Having a un-stealth patched 360 game and having a modded drive sends off a red flag to MS.

As long as you can follow instructions carefully then it is a fairly easy process.

As of now there is no way to simply updating the iXtreme firmware with a disc. You will need to re-flash the firmware.

I cannot answer your other question as I do not know.
