I decoded a movie using dvdfab HDD. I used dvdshrink to reduce file size.

Can somebody explain in layman's terms what the difference is between the backup target and the target image file. I understand that there is a source and then you analyze and do a backup... But what is it that you are actually backing up What is the purpose of the backup if you only care about the target image file since that is where you will burn the image from and it is the target image file where the compressed file is actually going to.

The backup target is basically asking how you wish to back up your files. Your options are as an ISO Image File, ISO Image File and Burn with ImgBurn,Nero,or DVD Decrypter (whatever you have set up), or as DVD Files on your HDD.
Target Image File is the location and name that your ISO Image will be saved to. If you had selected Hard Disk Folder as your backup target then it would read "Select target folder for DVD output files" as opposed to target image file.
