One way is to use paint remover. But remember that this is not a job for n00bies so if you don't feel comfortable doing this then get a professional to do this instead.

Why not just softmod it? No opening required.

I am still trying to figure out why people are still buying the chips. My softmod works perfect. Can't even tell the difference.

Softmods are more prone to be disabled by Nintendo through firmware updates. With chips you don't have to worry about that plus it has greater game compatibility and faster read speeds.

So far so good for me. I can't even notice a difference. I have heard the wii key 2 is pretty cheap now though and it doesn't void your warranty. I may get one in the future, but for now it's working perfect. We'll see what happens when 3.5 comes out.

actually with a mod chip you can run gcos games and can access certain wii settings soft modding cannot do. Better to get a chip than to do softmod imo, because once nintendo figures out how to block all softmods etc. I have both though so i really dont care. Oh yeah and with modchips u dont have to worry about all the ios loaders and releases lol.

Nintendo WILL find out how to block all softmods. It's just a matter of time.
The ability to play GC games is a plus for me.

Hopefully not any time soon. Just curious, where did you get your chip? Did you get the clip? I believe the clip makes it so you don't have to soder. Do you have to update it as well? Work better than soft mod?

I'm not worried about Nintendo hacking the softmod but I do love me some GC action and my wiikey does the trick.

Where did you get yours? I heard what you want is the wiikey 2 with the clip so there is no sodering? That correct?

Yeah Nintendo will block the softmod blah blah blah. They might block it for a day and the next day a new fix will be out.
Once a GC loader comes out for softmod, someone stick a fork in the worthless hardmodding scene for the Wii.
Softmod is king.

I am kind of in the same boat right now. Charging my buddies to mod their wii is nice and easy for me. Done 3 in the last week. Once you do 1 it is cake and on the newest firmware. I keep reading people are downgrading too which is driving me nuts. I have like 20 games and all work on softmod. You cannot tell any difference from teh back and real game. Softmod is king!
