I have a few questions to ask about the lifespan of the xbox 360 dvd drive and about the chance os being banned on xbox live. Here is my situation. I have an xbox 360 which I bought in november 2005. It is the oldest there is with a hitachi drive. It has never got the rrod or had any othe problems to date. A few months ago, I decided that I wanted to mod the console. I bought an nme v2 chip from konsolenprofis.com but the soldering pads were too small and it was useless. The chip allowed the console to run hacked firmware while also containing the old firmware for xbox live. I thought then that if I nly played backups offline I wouldn't get banned but I don't think that is the case now and therefore want to flash the drive. Here are the questions. Seen as my xbox 360 is three years old, how long should I expect the hitachi drive to last? If my hitachi does break, where is the cheapest place to buy a new drive and is the process of transferring the motherboard key to the new drive complex? Btw I already have opened my 360 but my guarantee had expired anyway. How likely am I to get banned from xbox live within a year? Does the fact that I live in Ireland decrease my chances of getting banned? Does the age of my 360 decrease the chances of me getting banned. If I do flash my drive, should I play backups just offline or online or does it make a difference if the 360 ogs the information. What are the chances of actually having my gamertag banned (I care a lot about my gamertag)? Finally, how complicated is the process of unbricking a drive. Even if people could answer a few of these common but important questions, I would appreciate it. I want to know if in my condition with an old 360, is it worth flashing at all? Thanks.
