hello i am asking for help with my liteon drive this is what i have done

i have a vt6421 card so i uninstalled the drivers for it deleted the file in my system 32 so it wont reinstall them got the files in jf with my ck3 and probe made the hacked file went to erase drive and it locked up my pc, so i use iprep to create a boot disk booted into dos typed in l-o-erse.exe then my port number come back with a ff80 status done same again now with ff72 turned drive off typed dosflash saw my drive number 0 so pressed y to resend mtk turned drive back on and it erased power cycled the drive typed dosflash again saw my drive pressed y to resent mtk turned drive back choose my drive then w for write then it started to write the first bank then an error saying drive not ready reading to A redone the steps but power cycled the drive again but the same thing happend now the drive wont respond when i go to resend mtk comes back with a d51 status wont even let me get to the part where i can choose w foer write drive will not eject and when i put it back in the xbox without the face plate on the middle green light is flashing really fast and after a few seconds the lower right green quadrant turns red

have i bricked my drive has anyone got any ideas how i can fix this please

also before i booted into dos with iprep i reinstalled the via drivers

i'd be surprised if you bricked it ... so far i've seen several posts from people who "thought" they bricked it but eventually got it working...

if i were you i'd try a different SATA controller.

thanks for the quick reply i also have onboard via so i might try that just one thing how come it erased ok but not write

and the drive is now close and wont open but does,nt it have to be halve opened for this to work

you're original post is very hard to understand... but from what i gather you're trying to flash the drive, correct ??

if you're trying to erase/flash the drive then no the tray does not need to be open/half open/etc

lol sorry im not very good at explaining things

now the drive is already erased what would be the best and easyest way to flash the hacked f/w

again thanks for your help

also i have one spare sata port on my mb whats the best way to find the correct port number for that port

one last thing if i connect the drive to the sata port and turn the drive on the pc freezes will only come back when i turn of the ck3

did u reboot after u uninstalled the via drivers and then deleted from system? correct me if i am wrong guys but wouldnt that be good idea anytime after doing such action as uninstalling drivers and such

dosflash 1.7 beta (dosflash16) + your ix 1.5 firmware + bootable usb drive. DosFlash is pretty easy to do. run dosflash, choose your corresponding sata number (lite-on drive will say something like MXL2005), power cycle to return 0x72 status(might have to use l-o-eras to get 72 status) choose write, enter the name of your bin and that should get your drive working again.
