hi everyone.
im planing on buying a psp today from gamestop for $119.99 the website shows and says that its a "fat" psp. if i chose to mod it one day. what things do i need to look for or ask about at gamestop?
im shure, i cant just go in and say i want a fat psp with firmware v.xxxx can i? lol. anyway, i will update this thread latter tonight after i read the replys i recive. also, gamestop is advertising a memory duo 1.0gb memory card for $17.99. is that a good deal? or the other option i have is the memory pro duo 2.0gb memory card for $19.99 thanx for the replys and advice.
Im from england, so im not sure about the memory cards. But if you want free games, get the highest memory card you can... make sure its magic gate and legit.
Just ask the firmware.
Reply if you want some help with modding.
All fatpsp are mod-able, which means even the ones with the newest patch. If you want to get a slim/litepsp you want to get a psp with official firmware (ofw) that is NOT 4.00 or above. However, if it is a old psp that had a lower firmware than 4.00 but it has been updated to a higher firmware, like 5.00 you can still mod it (hard to check firmware). psp with ofw 4.00 or above installed brand new out of the box are the ones you want to look out for. With used psp, you have the right to check them out before you buy them, that means you can ask them to check them out and go and play a few games, go to settings>system settings>system information and look at the system software(aka firmware). If i were you, check out if any of the slim have offical firmware that is NOT older then 4.00 and buy that one.
PS: I was in the market for a used psp too, however most used psp have bad pixel, check for pixel problems.
well i got my psp today and when i go into system info it says
version 5.02. so evedently, whoever had this psp upgraded. so i guess doing a mod is out for now.
