I was so close to playing my backups - I got 1 (Wii Sports) to play then it stopped 1/2 thru. No other games will play - Used IMG all different burn speeds and disc hp, sony, verbatim, fuji - I am stuck. I want to unistall everything except the HBC and start from scratch. How to I UNinstall Cios installer,Backup launcher -wii Gator, Wad Manager-etc. Tried to load anytitle deleter but it didn't show on SD card. Help - I want to start from scratch....but can't.

Just another thought. I HAD the WiiKey installed and running only a few games (wii sports, wii play, carnival games) but it wouldn't run any others - should I abandon the HBC and reinstall my Wii chip? I was unable to update it - that's why I tried the HBC. Which one has the least hassle b/c I am just about done with all this - very frustrated but so close. I have had success and know both work but can't get continuous success.

All the programs you mentioned arent installed at all. They're saved on the SD card in the apps folder. You can delete them and then copy them back to the SD, but that really wont do anything at all since they only run from the SD. They dont copy to the wii's system memory or become modified in the slightest when you run them.
The only things that are installed in the softmod are the homebrew channel, the cIOS (not the cIOS installer, just the cIOS patch), and IOS16 (only if your wii is on 3.4)
Make sure that the anytitledeleter is in its own folder in the apps folder in your SD card and use that to delete the cIOS and IOS16 (if you have it) Then try reinstalling them and see if it helps.
Edit:
Generally the modchip is the simpler way to go. I'd like to ask what exactly was the problem you were having with most games and the chip. If it was the 001 error and for some reason you cant upgrade the chip to be compatible with games that do the 001 check then you can bypass that by booting the games through gecko OS on the homebrew channel.

Thankf=s for the speedy help. I am not in Firmware 3.4 at this point so -I will just delete the SD card and try reinstalling the modchip. Yes - most of the Errors were the ER 0000001 DRE errors. As i said - a few games DID run with no issues but then it stopped with what it seemed the newer games. I downloaded the Update 1.9 ande the Config program to UPDATE the WiiKey but I couldn't get the Wii to accept the disc and I burned it several x/s at different speeds and disc. At that point I decided to get the new D2Pro solderless chip and install it - BUT the board that I had had the pre-installed (hack-proof) epoxy and made it impossible to click the chip in (even after trying to remove the epoxy). So that was a waste of $ and now the chip is shot. So you see - its a bit of a mess and tons of time wasted. I just want to complete this - b/c I am so close. So I will re-install the chip and try running the disc with the Gecko OS. Can you eleborate on that? I just want to be 100$ clear on my next steps. Thank you!!!!!!!

Gecko OS is a homebrew program that offers all the functions of the backup loader except for being able to load backups. You use it much like the backup loader to load import games, skip updates and bypass the 001 error for original disks. If you have a modchip though then it will also work for backup disks.

Hi there, I wonder if anyone can advise please!
I have seen on e-bay a chap selling a link how to get 250 Wii games. You have to have the Wii connected on-line it says.. Has anybody tried this, does it work and is it worth paying for? Million $$ questions can you tell me how I can do this, please?
Thanks very much.

Ok, thats a major thread hijacking, which is completely against the rules.
I can tell you now that its a scam, but I wont further divert the original thread topic.

Umm..did you have a WiiKey 1?" If so that doesn't work with the D2E chipsets with the epoxy. How did you have the WiiKey installed? Was it soldered on? If so, why don't you just solder in the D2Pro and forget about the clip? ---Chikn

I had the WiiKey soldered on as the diagram on the Wiikey website demonstrated. It worked but only for a few games and then I couldn't update it. So I removed it and ordered the D2Pro solderless chip and couldn't install it (but tried) b/c of the epoxy on the connectors. Tried to remove the epoxy and clip the chip on BUT it wouldn't click on and stay on. I just figured that that chip was now damaged b/c some of the plastic onnnectors were bent. Is is possible to wire / solder it on and if so can you elaborate? Is this an option?

Did you have the Wiikey 1 or 2? This makes a difference because version 1 is not compatible with the DME chipset. If you no longer have it then I guess it really doesn't matter. Is the D2Pro chip "pre-soldered" onto the wiiclip? you can de-solder it and remove the chip from the clip then solder it directly to the soldering points in the PDF below. That should get around the problem of the epoxy. Just be careful with the small solder pads on the chip, try not to heat them up too much or you could damage the chip. If you were able to solder the Wiikey you should be fine. The D2Pro wiring diagram is here:

I still have the WiiKey 1 - just took it out - it is still good. don't have the DME PCB board. It was working - it just needed the update. I have all the info to make the update discs - it just won't do it.
Thanks for the D2Pro diagram - thanks.....

What IC chip is in your Wii if it is not the DME? I was under the impression that the epoxy boards were all DME. ---Chikn

You should run the config disc, there may be a firmware update. Also for region free make sure you insert a disc for your own region before playing any other games, this sets up region fre on the chip. BTW, what IC chip is in the WII? ---Chikn
