Just curious on how many people here have remove the black glue? I want to hear your experience and inputs before I jump the gun and start removing mine.

I think most people with the black resin over their drivechip either sent the console out to be modded or just used the softmod method, sorry.

ive removed the black glue, its very difficult because of the high risk you could damage your wii with removing it and if you mess up removing the black glue it could take the soldering pads with it. You have to heat it up and chisel it away thats how you remove it. I used my soldering iron to do so and spent 10 hours before i really cleaned it up.

It was fun! A media blaster would be ideal...but I didn't have one of those at the shop... 3 hours with a soldering iron!
