Semi-Bricked wii, tatsunoko vs capcom??

Hi, My wii is modded with D2Pro9 chip and is an NTSC USA wii,i recently semi-bricked my wii by not running the regionfrii app on one of my games. I'm trying to fix my wii and I though that I could just get my tatsunoko vs capcom and update my wii, thus overwriting my firmware and fixing the problem. I didn't realize that the japanese game would not fix it, that I need a USA game, and now my wii is updated with I don't know what firmware Tatsunoko vs Capcom installed on it... I still get the Opera browser problem on wii settings. I've googled around and found out that the two ways to fix this is to update with a new game overwriting the firmware(except i have no idea what firmware my wii is since i've installed the Tatsunoko vs capcom update) and the second way to fix the semi-bricked is to download the discs which I tried to find but were outdated with old firmwares. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Tatsunoko vs. Capcom was just released dec 08th 2008. Firmware 3.4 was released nov 18th so I'd guess theres about an even chance of it containing firmware 3.3 or 3.4.

Either way that means that you cant use the semi-brick-fix disk to repair the problem unless you already have the homebrew channel installed. You also cant install the homebrew channel at all until you unbrick and can access the wii settings.

I dont know of any games that contain 3.4 yet but there should be at least one by now.

But if Tatsunoko vs. Capcom contains firmware 3.4 and you dont have homebrew channel already installed then you're stuck until the next firmware release.

alright, thanks for responding penguin98.. I guess I'll try and search if I can find a 3.4 game and see if that'll work, and if not.. then i'll just have to wait, thanks again.
