Thanks to those of you who have been aiding me with with the "Any Nero Conflicts" thread.

I believe I've narrowed it down to a hardware issue. I went out and got Record Now Max. It won't let me select my DVD drive as the recording device. I'm using the HP DVD-Writer 300i. All the drivers and firmware are up to date.

Bruinguy I have the 200i not the 300 and it was a pain in the arse 4 Me trying to assign that dvd driver with Nero I eventually did it and it turned out some versions of Nero were just not compatable with My system for some reason ....

nero 6 runs fine 4 Me
