Winrar Problem

I've got a strange issue with Winrar. All files in Winrar come up as text only. If I extract the files from Winrar everything is normal (pics, vids, mp3, etc..) I've gone through the settings and options 20 times, but always with the same result. Anyone ever hear of this or have any ideas? Any help is appreciated.
