hi i have a 360 and for the second time i have the 3 red lights... think the xbox is not far over a year old... but last summer i got 3 red lights and when we contacted microsoft they refused to fix it because they said it had been tampered with (i'm assuming they knew that because the firware was changed..because after my son went online they blocked the xbox live)
so the first time i had to pay 40 quid to get the thing fixed and now looks like i will have to fork out again... does anyone know if i have any rights here??
is the 3 red lights an east fix?? i've heard that it's just dry solder joints...
no you have no rights in this situation ... tampering with the xbox violated all the terms of use ... you're lucky if they will work on it at all even if you pay them..
Just take it apart, sometimes all it needs is the screws tightend if it had the x-clamp fixed. Uf not just look around there is millions of tuts on how to do a x-clamp it's easy to do.
exactly, find someone from the modding community to perform the fix for you and you will be all set. You can also look on ebay for someone who will reflow the console.
I just sold a modded halo edition on craigslist so i have nothing but good things to say about it.

Yeah, but I found good ones there too, I only go with the ones who have websites and stuff also showing their 360 services they offer. You can tell too if they sound cool on phone or e-mail, and not a little snot-nosed punk. Sure beats sending it off to someone costing $40 in total shipping, to and from.
