Need help flashing with ICH7 sata

Hey guys i managed to hex edit my mtkflash and now in the dos mode i connect my xbox to my pc and then i type mtkflash r /m orig.bin it comes like this :
drive scaned
1: VIA8237 Pri Master
2: VIA8237 Pri Slave
choose one device = 1
port 1f0, Master/Slave: a0
-(blinking) nothing happens after that
when i press Esc key it comes this :
status:=80 it should be 70
plz help me i am so close to flashing my MS28 thanx in advance

when you get to the point in mtkflash to select your chipset(in your case it would be either VIA8237 1 or 2), if you are using 360 to power drive, shut off 360, select your desired chipset , wait 10 secs, and turn 360 on again, if your chipset is compatible then it should start dumping, if you are using the connectivity kit of some sort, instead of shutting off the 360, just power down the ck and turn it back on. if it still don;t work, then your probably gonna have to buy a via 6421 pci sata card.

i already tried powering off my xbox when selecting the device and wait for 10 sec then turn it back on but it still says this :
port 1f0, Master/Slave: a0
-
it remains like that even if i turn my xbox on or off and when should i plug in my sata and when should i not?

i beleive you should leave it off until you get to the dos prompt.
turn xbox on, right when you are gonna type mtkflash r /m orig.bin, mtkflash displays via info, turn xbox off, select sata 1 or 2, wait 10 secs, turn xbox on, don't necessarily wait 10 secs to turn on box. wait like 8 or 9 then turn on, might be taking a little extra. have you tried using iprep? that will tell you, if compatible or not, but if it is not working no matter what, you need the via card. i would say, take the drive out of your box and ship it to me, i will flash for you, but might cost you more to send to me then to buy the actually via card. ebay is cheapest, i know for facts, microcenter has them, not sure if stocked or not, but i know of 3 people now that bought them there.

i tried iprep latest version 1008 that dosflash right? wen i type dosflash in the dos it comes sata 1 detected but unknown chipset and it asks me to select wat to do read,write,lite on,etc but wen i select read it says unknown chipset and quits so mtkflash is better i guess and i saw in many forums and guides that u can flash with ICH7 chipset and so many succeeded aslo even i want to so its not necessary to buy VIA card right so please help me

couple questions? why do you have a via8237 raid controller installed if you have an intel sata chipset?
2nd question..what version of iprep? because if it is the latest you wouldn't be typing anything at the dosprompt as iprep includes an autoexec that runs up dosflash as soon as you boot... please clarify

just realized, your title says ich7 chipset(intel), which is wrong, if your options are for via8237. but anyways, i did some searching, if you do have a ich7 chipset, you cannont flash ms28 with it, if you do have a 8237, you can i found this tut on xbox-scene, it is for ms28 flashing w\via8237

Thanx a lot dude i will try this out and hope it works and i am really sorry for giving wrong title i know my sata chipset is intel but wen i checked on the net it was VIA 8237? but i works or else it should not even show in the devices if i dont hav the chipset right?

no it will show, because it is detecting that there are sata ports present, it's just due to the fact that mtkflash does not work well with intel and nforce thats all.

no your wrong mtkflash does work with nforce and intel if it is hex edited and its been proved also even if u see in the xbox 360 sata compatability list u will see in onboard sata that ICH7 sata chipset works with hex edited mtkflash even nforce

and that is why i said doesn't work "well", i know people have had success, but there are for more people unsuccessfull, then having success with those chipsets.

u are 100% right dude i am out of luck i am not able to flash my MS28 coz of my intel chipset i guess i hav no other option but to buy the VIA VT 6421A to flash my MS28 right? anyway thaxn a lot for ur help u can close this thread as i hav given up flashing with my intel chipset
