i know this is a thick question but ive never really listened and understood what format is what . am i right in thinking Pal is English , NTSC is american and JAP is japenese .

so my wii is english and plays PAL games but will it play NTSC or JAP games ? or is it at this point i have to nake it muliti region or something ? im just going to read the HOW TO guide but just wanted to know if i needed to do it ?

No. PAL and NTSC are video format standards

Japanese is a language predominantely spoken by people that live in Japan. <G>

If your Wii is modded you have the capability of playing out-of-region (not your Wiis region) games.

If your Wii is not modded, out of region games will not play.

so will and english wii play usa games ? i take it , it wont play jap without being modded?

No, it wont unless its modded or using homebrew to play out of region games.

There are different regions for the wii. U is North America. J is Japan. And E is Europe.

An unmodded wii will only play games from its own region.
