if the files are valid they are all you need to flash a new drive... you wouldn't need a new xbox 360

but how did you "brick" the liteon drive... we've had about 10 people on here who all thought they bricked it but eventually got it working just fine ... unless you saw sparks/smoke coming out of it then i doubt you bricked it.

Use dosflash to "un - brick" your lite-on. As far as I know you can't brick them unless you fry one. I have brought back at least 5-6 lite-ons by using dos flash. Good Luck!

Ok, I stand corrected. I have fixed over a dozen of these but now I have one that may not be fixable. I was writing the FW to this and it got to the 3 stage and froze. Now I can't even use L-O-Eras.exe to un-stick this drive. Is there something else I can do? I think that the drive just went bad because I used the same FW on another Lite On and it worked just fine. even though you are thread jacking, try to use jungleflasher, or dosflash32. ive fixed a few lite-ons that dosflash16 couldn't see for some reason, but in windows i could fix them.

I also have had a few that have froze during writing. Then the L-O-Eras.exe no longer worked. So I used jungleflasher (Erase Liteon) option to erase the drive. Then rebooted into Dosflash16 to write the firmware.

If you have issues with your PC booting past the XBOX 360 drive when trying to run jungleflasher try going into BIOS and select your HDD as your first boot device.

This fixed the issue for me. After you erase the drive make sure you change the boot device back so you can boot into DOS.
