Power Calibration Error

I have just burnt some DL+ media, only after trying a different type of disc it gives me power calibration error. This normally indicates bad media, but the funny thing is that i've already used half the dvds before, same burner... what could the problem be? Im sure its not just one bad disc as i've tried a few.

What media are you using? Burn speed?
If you have a log from the app you used to burn that would be helpful.

Power calibration can also be due to:
°Drive needs a firmware update
°Poor power to the drive - try another power connector or if you have more then one ODD trying disconnecting one.
°Dusty/dirty lens - try blowing some canned air in the drive or use a dvd lens cleaner.

The rest of the batch of what you're using could be bad - or maybe hit or miss - that could be a possibility. I've had it happen :)

Well, i've just tried the exact same discs and this couple of times they've worked. Problem must be intermittant.
My drive has latest firmware, and im pretty sure its not power as im using a quality high power psu.
Probably dirty drive then?

Possibly - I run a dvd lens cleaner through mine every so often - well more like once a year :)

That or you just have a dodgy spindle of discs.
Clean the lens and when you try a new spindle see how it goes. The problem may just disappear.
