OiNK uploaders get community service

Four convicted uploaders from the now defunct torrent tracker OiNK have been sentenced to community service today, and forced to pay all court costs incurred.
The founder and administrator of the site, Alan Ellis, and one other uploader are still awaiting a jury trial.

Michael Myers? Haha, I wonder if that was a nasty joke from his parents.
These sentences aren't exactly heavy. They are lucky to get off so lightly in my opinion.

You know if they really want to ..... cant think of the word right now, rehabilitate?
Anyways if they want to do something that would really prevent people from download/sharing music/movies in the future, instead of money, instead of community service, instead of prison time, they should make them work at whichever company they stole from.
I know, it's kind of a dumb idea but they'd get to see what they did more from the mafiaa point of view.

Direct not the brunt of your anger at our politicians or police, for they too are mere pawns. Some indeed have no clue whatsoever how this state of affairs came into being, and are merely pig-headed fools. Others are weak men who have allowed themselves to be bought with promises of wealth or power to come, and should be pitied as much as they are despised.

These breadcrumbs, therefore, cannot be said to be the reason for the immense legal upheaval we are currently experiencing.

While I do agree that punishing downloaders and forcing them to pay thousands for measly tracks, these uploaders are aiding hardcore piracy. Sure the facts regarding CD sales and such may be altered, but the solid fact is, they are aiding piracy and theft of copyrighted material. Simple as.
