Hi
Has anyone managed to find a way of flashing a Benq drive using their Laptop. I don't mind buying a card to plug in but can't seem to find any info on if it is possible or not. (Had the Hitachi before the 3 RLOD came and Microsoft replaced it rather than repairing it. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR)

are you sure they replaced it with a benq, and not a lite-on?? pull the face plate off and look at the third hole, if you see yellow wires its a lite-on. but i believe you can flash the benq with a PCIMA card that has the proper chipset in it.

No, Hole has white cables. Pretty sure thats the Benq drive. Do you know which type of card I need???

My mistake, white cables through the hole but inside is a phillips Lite on drive. DG-16D2S. Nightmare?????

Ummmm..... White wires is BENQ .... Yellow wires is Lite-ON .... Lite-ONs really aren't a nightmare, they just require a couple extra steps.
