I have looked up lots of guides and info and naturally Textbooks '08 guide isn't specific enough to help me. I have only dealt with Hitachi drives so I have no idea what I need to do. I want to extract the key from this Samsung and inject it into a Hitachi drive. How can I do this and flash the drive with iExtreme 1.4 or 1.5?

well so all you need then is to know how to get your samsung key? since you already know how to do the hitachi,,take the orig from sammy combine with hitachi 1.4 (1.5 not out for hitachi)..im not 100 percent sure but i think you need a chipset with 6421..do you have one? and is it a sammy ms25 or 28?

It's a Samsung MS25. I hear that Intel ICH chipsets are compatible. That's what I have so I'm going to try it. Basically these are the steps I need to take...

1) Extract key from Samsung
2) Inject Samsung key into the iExtreme 1.4 software so it will apply that key to the Hitachi.

Is that possible? Don't I have to spoof the Hitachi as a Samsung?

it depends? are you putting the sammy drive in your hitachi box or your hitachi in your sammy box?to read the sammy you just make a floopy with mtkflash on it .first make sure you make it msdos formatted..do this by right clicking on your floppy drive and hitting format..then unplug your hard drive dvd drives..hook up you sammy power it up ..turn on computer when prompt .type mtkflash /r /m orig.bin(make sure you put the spaces in or it wont work)selct the drive your xbox is on and it will save your orig to your floppy
