I have a 60GB model from the UK release, and I got the YLoD. I had upgraded it to a 250GB hdd, and because I had heard that the hard drive could be the problem, I switched back to my 60GB one. This didn't help, so am I correct in assuming that the hard drive has nothing to do with it? If so, does that mean I could send it back to sony with the 60GB hdd, and then put my 250GB one in the new PS3 they send men and it would work? Any info is appriciated.
I doubt the new hard drive had anything to do with your PS3 failing.
Replacing the hard drive does not void your warranty, But If your sending it back to sony for a warranty repair, I would put the 60Gb drive back in.
After all you wouldn't want to leave in the 250Gb drive and get a PS3 back with a 60Gb drive. ;-)
