Hey, I'm considering buying the new arcade version with the jasper board and just wnated to see if anyone has had theirs fail on them or not? does it seem to be running cooler than the falcons? or is this just another "RROD" proof board that won't deliver. any opinions welcome.

To me it runs WAY cooler, even taking it apart after 2 hours of gaming GOW2 horde mode its cool to the touch even the heatsink. Personally I cut my back fan and right side grills out and it runs WAY better. IF u want to push it further just get a xclamp change on a new board and consider that rrod proof.

It will never be rrod proof until they change the crappy solder they use on the boards, unless they had the whole thing submerged into some kind of liquid cooling system. And even then i wouldn't be 100% convinced.

One thing i will say about the jasper boards is that their unable to handle alot of extra mods with their lower wattage. i took my new one apart and added a talismoon whisper max fan, and it seemed to make the console "brown out" or sometimes not work at all. but as soon as i put my stock fan back in it worked fine. I even tested the fan on an old zephyer board and it ran fine. so i know it isn't the fan.
