You could try xdccspy.com, though it's not the most actively updated of those three, it's functional and is good for a "last resort" search I suppose.

Prefer Packetnews, no real reason, just personal preference :-)

I like to go to ircspy.com first and try an advanced search with "no offline bots" and sort by available slots. Sometimes packetnews has stuff the other won't have because it has different channels. I don't use xdccspy much at all.

xdccsearch is lame! never works right neither does ISOhunt and packetnews.com doesnt list bots as online or offline properly half the time! I got banned from a network for using packetnews cause it said the bot was online , I went to the channel pasted the bot and pack info to get it channel returned NO such bot is online blahblah and I got banned for so called flooding. Packetnews.com is a last resort in my book! IRCSPY.com much better much more reliable

so for IRC you basically have pretty much three options for searching.....that sucks....all three don't list much......and when they do...the bots are offline or don' have the upload capability it says they do......and most places i've been get upset at the "@find" command or "!list" command so WTF?!!?....i love the IRC but there has to be a better way to find what i'm looking for....

IRC channels get irrated with using the @find and @list or the !List command cause a. causes the bots to mass flood the channel when users keep making the same request over and over again b. knocks the bots offline from being flooded themselfs
as for searching the channels and finding the newest stuff or the really hard to find stuff well thats easier send then done. getting access to a distro channel before the material reaches the public channel does wonders ;P

check the topic of the channel, you'll see what Im talking about. a good many channels have a sepereate channel for recruiting new members ie servers, scanners, uploaders. Look and ye shall find the ad or the Notice for such channel in the main channel. usually posted by the Ops.
going go out a limb here and say this but here's how the deal usually works : you join up to serve as a server / bot for a channel for x amount of time, and IF you complete that task and you are good server have good up and down speeds you will be rewarded with either Distro access or access to the channels private collection the stuff that goes on the servers and bots after the Owners, Ops etc staff get first pickings. so serving does get you places.
{now watch me get banned for saying that *laffs*}

That's it! You're ****** banned!! :P (hehe i just had to :P)
{TKO}: sit around, watch, keep your mouth shut unless you got something important to say to an @ :P Once they like you, things go well -- some networks are easier to "get in" on than others :P
