I have a movie on my pc that I'd like to burn to a DVD. When I initially got the movie, I decompressed it with the WinRAR program. I have never run into the stv format... does anyone know how this can be accomplished? Thanx in advance! Lisa

Just curious, when you extracted the video with WinRar, did it extract to a mkv?

Nope... The original files had extentions of R001 thru R049. After using WinRAR, the extensions were -stv.

I've looked at several conversion programs, but don't see stv listed as one of the extensions.. I'm stumped :(

Just wondered, never seen an stv that didn't extract to mkv. No idea but maybe ConvertXtoDVD or DVD Flick or maybe even convert them to avi first. You might have a try with something like AlltoAvi, doesn't list stv but you never know.

You sure STV (Straight To Video) wasn't just part of the file's name?

And I thought it stood for Star Trek Voyager?

I've also seen stv used for sage TV. Perhaps it's one of theirs.
I would browse it in a hex viewer to see if there are any clues
in the file header.
