I have just reinstalled vista 64 bit on my HP1017nr Laptop and I set up the xbox 360 to share my media using WMP11. Now i use the NXE video tab to play movies and videos so i can play .avi and my wmv-hd files. so far plane jane and your probably getting ready to say use google for this. but this is where the plot thickens...
For a week I was able to use my external USB 2.0 WD 1TB hard drive that has all my media on it. I could watch my HD movies lag free and browse my files problem free. i could even unplug the drive from my laptop and plug it back in and the folders would still be found by the xbox in the video tab, but I recently turned off my media sharing, and file sharing on my laptop for a few hours and then turned them on and wanted to watch some tv shows that were on my external hard drive. so i plugged it in like i normally did, but not when i select my laptop form them NXE video tab, it only has the one folder i pointed WMP11 to and no longer has the 2 folder i selected on the external hard drive.
Ive used WMP11 to refresh the library by pointing to the folders again and letting it find the files it already had, and i stopped monitoring the folders with the xbox and REselected them hoping it would bring back the missing folders.
so does anyone have any ideas of what is going on? why i cannot see the folders under the videos tab on the xbox?
