I need some help... for some reason all of a sudden most of the movies I'm burning will freeze part way through. I've been burning movies for years and all good up until now.
I use DVD Fab to decrypt then Clone DVD to burn. Currently using TDK DVD+R discs but have tried many other brands to see if there is a difference, and there isn't. I have a new HP computer with the standard dvd burner.
Any suggestions what could be going wrong here????

The difference may be Hidden.

1. Use Taiyo Yuden or Verbatum.
2. Burn at 1/2 the rated speed of the Blank Media
3. Set the Target area To 4300
4. Do Not Multi-task while Backing-up a Dvd
5. Burn with Imgburn

I Only Use Taiyo Yuden Premium -R 8X Disc.

I use TDK +R's quite a bit. After using dvdfab, you may want to use fixvts or vob blanker, as dvdfab doesn't always give the cleanest rips.

You could check your DMA setting for your DVD RW: (Start > right click My Computer > left click Manage > right click Device Manager > click the + sign next to IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers > left click Secondary IDE Channel > right click Properties > right click Advanced Settings. DMA 5 is best and DMA is better than PIO.
Even though the computer is new you could check the following also
Are there 80 wire IDE cables from device to IDE Connector socket/s?
You could also check for a Firmware update for your optical drive.
You probably knew all that anyway. Sorry if I appear to be patronizing. Wasn't intended to be that way. I have just had the same problem as you are having and eliminated it with the measures I gave above. The firmware update did wonders and although the IDE cable in my computer was 80 wire Ultra ATA 100 and only 10 months old I replaced it after having done the firmware update which I think fixed the issue.

Good luck
