Hi everyone ... One of my computers recently started experiencing a few problems altogether .. now I have a hunch that there might be something wrong with the hard drive in this computer ..

So basically I am looking for some very professional kind of software which does some good Hard Drive diagnostic and repair work ... Something which scans hard drives inside out for possible problems .. Something like memtest, but for Hard drives .. Some software recognised a professional hard drive doctor :P ... Dont care if its free or commercial, as long as its good :D

Know any such software ?

Diagnostics: Goto the website of the drive maker. They should have a tool for low-level scanning & formating...these tools can even fix some minor physical problems be re-mapping the drive.

...Just make sure to backup the drive first; most of these programs will wipe the drive clean.

If you are trying to recover data, "GetDataBack for NTFS" is what my friend is using to recover my RAID-5 array as I type this...It has already recovered about 80% of the data that I thought was lost...and that is from a broken, improperly re-initialized RAID-5 array with one drive that has bad sectors.

Spinrite is the software for you with 5 different levels of diagnostics and repair. Just google for it.

just do start>run>cmd>ok

then do chkdsk/f (for a quick check and fix)

or chkdsk/r (for an intense check and fix) takes considerably longer

you may need to specify which hard drive if you have multiple.
