Hi,

I received my new DVDR-A104 Pioneer recorder a few days ago, and have only just had a chance to try it out.

I burned one DVD-R, 'White Label' brand at 2x, with about 20 large files, and I found that I couldn't read back the last 3 or 4 files on various other DVD reader drives I have in other PCs.

A friend suggested updating the firmware to the latest 1.31 release. Since then, I can create the DVD-R disks, and the writer can verify that they have been created ok and will even read all data back. However, I can't read these disks AT ALL on any other DVD reader now, even if create them at 1x. (I've tried this with maybe half a dozen disks)

I tried creating a DVD-RW (Princo), and surprising (or not?) this works fine everywhere, even the last few files.

From what I've read in the forums, the White Label brand should be the most compatible, so I don't suspect that there is a problem with the disks.

BTW, I'm using Nero to burn the DVDs and have tried with PrimoDVD too.

Can anyone who's had a 104 recorder longer help?
