I have just flashed my Lite-On. New IXtreme 1.5 and all that jazz.
Now, I have never connected to Live, never even navigated round this dashboard thing, so I have a query.
I've 'obtained' fifa 09, made sure the AGX360 thing was done on the game and then loaded it up.
It says I need to install a update to play on it. I guess i'm going to have to update, but what do these updates do, are they safe, and should I plug my Xbox into my router to update fully?

Many Thanks!!
All the updates from game discs are safe. NXE is also safe.
game updates are usually just bug fixes and optimaations and such.
like with gears the newest update is supposed to improve matchmaking and fix several bugs and exploits people were using to basically cheat. so yes they are good and even for single player games they can have updates to fix bugs and stuff

yes that is what i was referring to was updates from live when u insert a game and it says u need to update and it signs u out and the downloads quickly and then signs u back in automatically.
if u meant updates from the game disc then yes those are safe, besides u wont be able to play the game unless u do them i think if they are from the disc.
