EuroVox V Max 2008: No Power and smokey smell

Hi everybody,

Last night my eurovox v max 2008 (black) went dead, there was also a smell coming from it. I took the cover off and the smell was coming from what I think is a small transformer (it looks like a coil type thing and is marked with the following EM-3014/3020 DX 07 06) When I put the power back on in makes a small hizzing sound,kind of like a slow air leak from a car tyre.
Has anybody experienced this before? Any advice would be much appreciated.

send it back if you can for a replacement,or take it to a electrical repair shop/person to have it checked out to see what part has gone down and get them to replace the part for you.maybe just a capacitor or resistor gone down and can be replaced for a few pounds.
