Hi,
I got a new laptop that can with Vista Home Premium. I have always used RipIt4Me, DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink to backup my DVDs. I tried using the same in Vista and am having a problem. I have turned on compatibility mode on all programs, all programs run as administrator, and I have turned of UAP. I start RipIt4Me and everything starts as usual. RipIt4Me starts Decrypter fine and Decrypter runs fine. When Decrypter is done, it shuts down and then RipIt4Me hangs. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

I assume you are running RipIt4Me in ?1click mode?.
I suspect either;
1. Decrypter really did not complete ripping (Trapped in copy protection.) or
2. RipIt4Me couldn?t start DVDShrink.

If Decrypter have really completed to rip on to HD like you mentioned,
Close ?Ripit4Me? and you should be able to process by starting DVDshrink manually.
(Also you should be able to watch ripped movie on your laptop.)

Like as many experts here suggest, it?s better (less problems);
to run AnyDVD behind RipIt4Me and
use ImgBurn with Shrink to burn (You still need decrypter to rip though.)

I hope this help.

Those programs are no longer supported and may run into copy protections they cannot handle by themselves.

DvdFab HD Decrypter is a freeware ripper than is constantly updated to keep up with newer encryptions.

Anydvd is also updated very frequently and comes with a free trial period.

Imgburn is the updated burn engine from Dvd Decrypter, and is freeware.

All links and guide, and more information is available in both links in my sig.
