I am using a progrm named The Film Machine to convert my files so that I can burn them to a DVD however the process takes hours and I was wondering if anyone knows of a faster program?
I'm not familiar with The Film Machine, but I've tried several different programs, over the years, to convert videos to DVDs.
Depending upon factors such as your machine's specs and the length of the video, it can take several hours to convert.
On my crappy, old system, doing a single 90-minute movie can take around 7 hours. I use ConvertXtoDVD, which is considered to be one of the faster programs.
So, just bear in mind that it's going to take a long time and plan accordingly. I usually set it up to work over night, while I sleep.
I download four 30 min (2 hours total) tv show torrents from UKNova and then convert them using The Film machine and then use DVDshrink to reduce them about 20% so that they fit the DVD and it takes about 2 hours total and that includes the burn to disc.
Also, the software is free with the option to donate a few dollars, so all in all it is slow but not by the standards of other software and my system is up to date and super fast so that may also help.
I just didnt know if there was anything out there that would convert faster, i guess not. I thank you for your input
I wanted to get back to you and thank you for the info on ConvertXtoDVD. Not only was it simple to use but after downloading the trial version and installing it I found that it took less than an hour to convert four files each 30 min's long and burn them to a 4x DVD+RW.
All that work in under an hour which not only cut the time in half but i also didn't have to go into DVDshrink and edit the finished conversion before burning.
ConvertXtoDVD.....is what I use. I can alter aspect ratio from the source file create custom menus with music, merge files with ease, this software talks to you and burns the completed file to DVD. In my opinion the best out. Oh and I get a year free udates. I purchased the software and hard disc copy for around 50.00 bucks. Money well spent.;)
you are right about ConverttoDVD it is pretty fast however I can't figure out if the files can be edited to remove credits and comercials etc so i dont think i will be spending the $50.00 and using the program that i use now only takes two hours and it allows me to control the content etc.
My free trial has run out so i cant figure out if i can edit etc so i dont think that i will ever find out now unless someone knows.
