How Do I Save Game In Extreme G 3 Racing ?? No Save Feature?

I got Extreme G 3 Racing for the PS2. Whenever I win and complete a racing circuit, I click to save the game. However, when I return to it the next day, I find that it never saved the game. This happens all the time. Does anyone know how I can save the game for sure?
