Just replaced my dying Pioneer 106 DVD burner with a new Pioneer 116 DVD burner.
Burns DVDs great! Burns all those TYs 8x that the old burner wouldn't burn anymore.
Now, I have a problem - when I try to burn a CD-R, I get cache errors - tried TDK, Momorex, Maxell (the Maxells were the only CDs that the old Pioneer 106 would burn), all get errors.
Burner cache is set to c: drive which has 2 1/6 GB available - but, I am burning a few MB file from desktop, and tried other small files from MY Docs, all give the same cache error.
Here is my nero log:

Also used Nero Info Tool, ASPI is not installed on either optical drive - I only mention this because in researching the problem, people have asked about it.
Any help is appreciated.

Duh!!
I couldn't find anything related to cache problems when searching all over - lots of yahooing/searching - so I opened Nero and started looking over the configuration section - noticed that Cache was set to a temp directory buried on C:
C partition still has over 2 1/2GBs available - but apparently it might be to divided up in a way that Nero can't temporarily set a small 4MB file on it!! - I do keep all partitions defragged.
So, I went ahead and set the Cache to my H: drive - just the root of H:, over 10 GBs there - it is my work partition that I play with video clips in.
CD burning zips right thru now.
Such an easy solution after I finally figured it out!!
