Is my LG drive is dying?

It was working great until a day or 2 ago. At first I thought it was dying because it wouldn't backup a new game (NHL 2K9.) I put the game disc in the Wii and it wouldn't read it either, so I assumed there was something wrong with my NHL 2K9 disc... haven't replaced it yet to test this though. Anyway, now I notice that while the games still copy using the LG drive, it's speed has decreased. I have the 8162b and it used to rip a game in about 1 hour and 50 minutes, but now it's taking approx. 2 hours and 15 minutes. I tested it with 2 or 3 other games and they all slowed down to this speed. Is it a sign that the drive is dying?
