I have tried the following: Ripping w/ANY DVD. DVDFAB DVD Shrink, 1 click DVD and CloneDVD. The disc is clean and plays fine on all my dvd players. Any suggestions out there?
Hi guys! Long time browser, first time "commenter"...
I used the AnyDVD program too, man that thing is awesome. I downloaded their newest version, 6.5.3.1 as a free trial for like 21 days.
And let's all admit without that wonder from Slyfox, we'd be cryin'.
For those newbs out there, and yes I consider myself one still, you have to have the AnyDVD program up on "on-screen" BEFORE you insert the disc. This way it can autorecognize it and it usually says something like:
Drive (Hardware) Region: 1
Media is a DVD.
Booktype: dvd-rom (version 1), Layers: 2 (opposite)
Size of first Layer: 1736336 sectors (3391 MBytes)
Total size: 3195440 sectors (6241 MBytes)
Video DVD (or CD) label: SB30NNW1
Media is CSS protected!
Video Standard: NTSC Media is locked to region(s): 1!
RCE protection not found.
Found & removed structural copy protection!
Found & removed invalid cell pieces!
Found & removed bogus title set(s)!
UDF filesystem patched!
Autorun not found on Video DVD.
Found & removed 6 potential bad sector protections!
Emulating RPC-2 drive with region 1!
Then open your Shrink program or whatever you like to use and presto!
The folks at Slysoft recommend if you see this and you're using a program like DVD Shrink, to use the built-in AnyDVD ripper and get to you HDD first before running Shrink.. Not necessary if you're using Slysoft's CloneDVD...
According to Slysoft, even though AnyDVD has removed the structural copy protection... older programs like Shrink (not updated in years), still sometimes mis-read the disc.
