I've done a search and can't find this particular problem.

Having recently purchased a dv camcorder with dv-in I've started transferring old video tapes of the family onto the computer using the camcorder. The films transfer perfectly into the camcorder and I transfer to my pc using xps movie maker setting the quality to DV which again works perfectly except for a having a very large file. I then use tmpg to change the film to an mpeg to reduce the size prior to burning the files onto DVD. This is where it goes wrong. The mpeg sound is very "tinny". This is not so with the avi file only when it is converted. Anyone?
