Hi all I've been using DVD fab5 for backing up a few movies of mine. The problem is that it seems to copy well but when it comes to playing back on my DVD player I get nothing. Is there something I'm doing wrong, is there a guide for DVD Fab 5? Is there an easier way? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

What movies are you trying to backup? What speed are you burning at? What type of disks are you using?

Make sure you are creating the correct format. PAL or NTSC, I've done that mistake before.

If that checks good, make sure you only use Sony 16x (+or-) blank dvd's to burn. Those are the only "off the shelf" media that is reliable and plays well in most dvd players.

And finally, if you still have bad dvd's. Use dvdfab to rip only and burn the files with nero or imgburn (if they are ISO format).

Use Only good Quality Blank Media (Taiyo Yuden or Verbatums)
Set the target Area to 4300
I suggest you use 8x -R disc, and burn at 4x using Imgburn.

Also you could try to play the disc on another DVD player

The two movies that I was trying to back up are Hancock and Babylon A.D. The first movie would only play on some DVD players and Babylon would not play at all. From what I can gather the recording speed was 2.4x and the media was memorex DVD+R.

Well I'm using DVD Fab on a trial basis and I'm trying to determine whether it or DVD2ONE would be the best software to purchase for backing my DVD's. Any recommendations or help would be appreciated.

I have backed up both of those movies with my usual process of dvdfab > fixvts > dvd shrink > imgburn. They were both very easy to use with the latest updated dvdfab.

Try increasing your burn speed. Sometimes burning too slow can be just as bad as burning too fast. Try 6X.
