i've had this happen before on other psp's too and its because your wires crossed and shorted the speakers or sound chip/mother board so one or the other needs replaced possibly even both

normally you can hear a scratching/ distored sound from the speakers if they are what blew so if thats the case just the speakers need replaced

dunno, but saying most of the chips on the motherboard are really small i would think it would be safer just to buy another slim motherboard plus i highly doubt you could find someone selling just the sound chip anyway

you should try and find a ta-85 v1 prolly cost you around $100 brand new though

yea, well i've looked for it but none of the chips say anything that makes its obvious and i don't feel like taking my motherboard completely out just to trace the route to find the chip that way but you would have a hard time removing a re soldering a chip that small and risk breaking th mother board anyway so if you could find someone selling there psp slim or spare parts maybe you could find a cheap one, and if all else fails buy a ta-085 off ebay like i had too; was worth it though since practice makes perfect and i now have 4 blue sound reacting leds.
